Crop Shears

Assembly and precision machining

Crop Shears.
Whole or part.

Complete crop shear assemblies. Drum assemblies. Blades and holders. Drive trains. Engineered for hot strip lines, plate mills, and continuous casters where cut timing and tonnage matter.

A shear is an assembly problem. We've been solving them since 1961.

Mull Group has been assembling mill equipment for over 60 years. Crop shears are among the most assembly-intensive components on a modern hot strip line — drum carriers, blade holders, drive shafts, couplings, and housings all working together under shock load. We’ve worked on assemblies from 2 pieces to over 100.

We build complete new shear assemblies from print, and we machine and supply the individual components — blades, blade holders, drum assemblies, drive trains — when you only need one part of the larger unit. Either way, the tolerance stack-up is managed in-house.

Build the whole shear. Build any part.

Rebuild what's worn.
01

Complete Assemblies

Full crop shear assemblies — drum, carriers, holders, blades, drive train, and housing — built, aligned, tested, and shipped.
02

Sub-Components

Individual blades, holders, drums, and drive parts — when you only need a specific piece of the larger shear.
03

Rebuild & Refurb

Teardown, inspection, component replacement or re-machining, reassembly, and test — restore to OEM tolerance or better.
